The Theater

The Crowd Theater is a performer-centric comedy theater located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, IL. We strive towards diversity, inclusion, and affordability with the intention of creating a space that listens to and serves the community it seeks to represent. Our theater is a DIY space built by the Board in October of 2015 with the help of various members of the comedy community.

Our shows are all ages but the content may vary from night to night and is generally suitable for those aged 16 and older. We are typically open from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM every night of the week.

The Crowd is touted as Chicago’s ONLY improv comedy theater, and we’re known far and wide for our legendary hot wings.

Blair Britt

Director of Communication - Blair moved to Chicago in 2012 and has been performing and producing comedy shows ever since. His favorite things are efficient email communication and spicy food. Despite claims to the contrary, he is not a robot and does not “eat metal and drink oil” or whatever.

Dillon Cassidy

Director of Operations - Dillon has been performing, producing, and teaching improv in Chicago and throughout the Midwest for the last nine years. He moved to Chicago in 2013 with the intention of creating a venue for folks to experiment and grow free from the pressures of 'failure & success.' His brother Ian is a big wad, but Dillon loves him anyway!

Taylor Jones

Director of Finance - After 10 years spent in the pursuit of comedic mastery Taylor (or T-bone) has artfully crafted a comedic presence that has been described as "mostly whiny adult and precocious kid characters". Incredible! He is also responsible for the Crowd's finances. What a hero!
